A Dress For Any Occasion

As a kindergarten teacher I am always on the lookout for cute and comfortable dresses that I can wear at work where I am constantly moving around and sitting on tiny chairs (or even the ground). Seriously you would be surprised at how often I am sitting on the ground or kneeling down to tie a shoe.  I have found the cutest selection of dresses from Cleo Madison that are perfect for a teacher, but also look just as cute outside of the classroom.

This Kendall Free Dress is a pretty charcoal color that hits below the knee, making it modest and cute!  The back also has an adorable pleat at the top which adds some definition to the loose fitting dress.  I love how this dress can be used anytime of the year.  The length makes it perfect for summer, but you can also easily throw on a pair of boots and a scarf and you are set for winter!  I love when you can buy an outfit that transitions well for different seasons.

You can use code "shop15" for 15% off your order at Cleo Madison to get this dress or anything else you'd like.  Definitely check it out!

I paired the dress with a pair of sandals from a few years back and a turquoise purse from Twenty Second Ave to give it a pop of color. I love pops of color during the summer and this purse was the perfect accessory.

Thanks for Charissa Lee Photography for the amazing photos from this session.  Make sure to check out her photography website.  She recently blogged about the pictures she took of my sister for her mission and they are adorable.

I would love if you would pin your favorite picture so you can share with your friends!

My Favorite Modest Swimwear Shops

Hey girls!! I've had a lot of people recently ask me where I buy my modest swimsuits and I'm so excited that this blog post is finally ready to share with you. I love how many shops are selling modest swimming suits now.  I remember when I was a teenager there were only a few different places I would shop at for swimming suits and now I love the variety of different places I can find modest swimsuits.

This blog post features my favorite places to find modest swimwear, but remember that modesty is also a personal choice.  What may be modest to me, may not be modest to you.  Search through these shops until you find something that fits what you are looking for.  If you have other shops that you love to buy modest swimwear from, please leave them in the comments so I can add them to the list. Have fun shopping and swimming!

How We Wore It: It's All In The Details

Anyone else obsessed with Pinterest as much as I am? It is so fun to scroll through an endless amount of outfit ideas and hopefully one day recreate it myself.  My cute blogger friend, Chelsea of Tessa Marie, and I are sharing our recreation of one of our favorite Pinterest looks.

We found our outfit inspiration from Sequins & Things.  You can check out her original blogpost here.

I loved the idea of taking inspiration from another blogger, but making the outfit unique to me and my style.  I loved the look of a cute and stylish white top with the black pants and brown purse and was excited to find some fun items from my own closet that went perfectly together for this recreation.

My top is from Mindy Mae's Market and I love the blue stitching around the outside.  It helps to add a touch of uniqueness and style for those days where you need a cute white shirt.  It was one of those shirts that as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it.  Unfortunately by the time I convinced myself it was okay to buy it (I have some serious buyers anxiety)....they were all sold out.  I was devastated and began searching other boutiques only to find no more small's available.  Luckily they've been restocked and I was able to buy one! Seriously though lesson learned! If I love it at first sight, I just need to buy it.

The black pants are my go to skinny jeans from American Eagle.  The day they start to have holes to the point I can no longer wear them, that will be a really sad day.  The shoes were some old sandals that I found in my sister's closet the other day.  I love being able to share clothes with her.  For my accessories, I added a watch and my favorite Alex and Ani bangles.  I wear them everywhere, but they are my all time favorite piece of jewelry.

To complete the outfit I began to look for a big brown purse.  When I realized I didn't have one I was a little disappointed, because I loved the way the blogger styled the outfit with the purse.  Then my new favorite clutch caught my eye and I realized that I didn't need a brown purse, because I had a leopard clutch, and that was definitely better. The quality is amazing and I love the strong magnet that holds the fold over closed.  It has a zipper to the main compartment and also right under the fold over for an extra small pocket.  Seriously major heart eyes for this clutch you guys! I take it almost everywhere and I'm not even sorry about it one bit.

You can use code "kellis" for 15% off your order at Tara Lynn's Boutique to get one of these clutches for yourself or anything else from their adorable boutique!

As always my fabulous photographer was Charissa Lee Photography and I can't give her enough praise for the job she does for me.  If you haven't booked her for your next session yet, you need to right now.

Make sure to check out the way that Chelsea wore it as well over at Tessa Marie and show her some love.

I would love if you would repin your favorite picture from above and share which piece of the outfit you liked the best.  Make sure to tag me in your pin @karli_ellis so I can see all your other fabulous pins and give you a follow.  If you aren't following me you can do so here.  Thanks again for stopping by! I feel so lucky that I have such amazing followers that help support me in my dream of sharing cute clothes with the world!

*Side Note: The shirt is sold out again from Mindy Mae's Market, but they have a few left at Tara Lynn's Boutique.  Make sure to use the discount code "kellis" for 15% off the shirt as well.

Styling for a Weekend Girls Trip

Hello to the weekend! I've been waiting for this weekend for awhile now.  My two best friends and I are heading to Park City for a girls trip.  I figure this would be the perfect time to share with you some fun ideas I have to make sure you look stylish on your girls trip without breaking the bank.

This t shirt is the perfect shirt for a girls trip, but I also wear it almost every weekend now because it is so comfortable.  It is from Population Now, one of my favorite companies to buy t shirts from.  I did another blog post on a shirt I bought from them with gold arrows that you can read here.  Pair the cute t shirt with a good pair of comfortable ripped skinny jeans for an added weekend, yet stylish look.

I'm doing a giveaway for you to win your own "Hello Weekend" t shirt from Population Now over on my Instagram.  Check it out and enter here.

As far as jewelry I decided to wear a simple bar necklace with the initials "k+k" (Kyle + Karli) and on the back it has our wedding date (08-01-14).  It is a fun way to keep my husband with me even though we aren't together.  I got it from Dainty Layers Jewelry where they customize a variety of types of jewelry.

I got the shoes a few months ago at a Groopdealz warehouse sale for $5! If you live in Utah make sure to watch for when they do another warehouse sale because they have amazing sales.  I suggest having a pop of color with your outfit and shoes were a perfect way to do that with this outfit.

When you are going on a trip for the weekend you need a good bag for carrying all your items, without having to bring a big suitcase.  This is where an adorable bag from Sloane Ranger comes in handy.  This bag is big enough to fit everything I would need for a weekend getaway and is easy to carry because the handles are sturdy, yet soft.  It even has a small pocket inside that is perfect for putting your phone or keys in, making it easier to find those items.  We all know how it is when you have a big bag and put all our items inside only to find yourself having to dig through the entire bag for an hour to find anything you need.  At least I hope I'm not the only one!

I curled my hair and then added a braid to pull back my bangs.  It helps to make the look cute and comfortable.  This hairstyle is also perfect for easily pulling back into a ponytail for swimming at the end of the night.

We have plans to go to dinner, shop 'til we drop, swim, and watch chick flicks galore! I can't wait! Any ideas for fun activities to do on a girls trip? Leave them in the comments below! I'd love to get more ideas for our next trip!

Isn't this rooftop amazing? Charissa and I have been looking for a good one for awhile and we finally found one! I loved it.  Of course we had an adventure driving around Salt Lake City trying to find different parking lots without having to pay a fortune to park! I always love hanging out with her.  Not only is she a blast to work with, but her photos are amazing.  She got these back to me in less than 24 hours.  Isn't she amazing?!
